In addition to providing formation for youth of the parish in non-Catholic schools, the School of Religion also prepares all children of the parish for their Sacraments of Initiation. All youth of the parish, whether enrolled in Catholic schools or not, should be registered for Sacramental Preparation. 

First Penance & First Holy Eucharist

The regulations of the Archdiocese of New Orleans requires a full year of faith formation, prior to receiving First Holy Eucharist, by attending a Catholic school or participating in the Parish School of Religion. Sacramental preparation includes parental participation in Parent Seminars focused on both First Penance and First Holy Eucharist. All students are required to attend these immediate preparation classes which begin in mid-January.

Confirmation

The regulations of the Archdiocese of New Orleans requires a full year of faith formation, prior to receiving Confirmation, by attending a Catholic school or participating in the Parish School of Religion. Sacramental preparation includes parental participation in Parent Seminar. All students are required to attend these immediate preparation classes which begin in mid-January and fulfill all other requirements of the sacramental prep program for Confirmation.
