Governor John Bel Edwards has again asked all people of faith to join he and First Lady Donna Edwards in prayer and fasting. The Governor is asking that on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week we will fast from lunch and instead spend time praying for the end of the pandemic. In addition to our prayer and fasting, we also need to do our part by masking up, getting tested if we feel sick or have been exposed, getting vaccinated, and encouraging all our contacts to do the same. We can end this pandemic if only we avail ourselves of the methods.

Fr. Daniel and members of the parish leadership are monitoring the current trends and data. If the situation becomes more dire some restrictions will be re-implemented here at St. Maria Goretti. While we, too, are ready to return to a more normal routine, our first priority is the health and safety of all our parishioners and community.
