College/University Graduates
Charlese Brown, Ed.D, graduated from National University with a Doctorate of Education. During her time studying for her doctorate Mrs. Brown achieved Dean’s List status and was inducted into Kappa Delta Pi the largest honor society for educators. Dr. Brown will continue her work as an educator in the Jefferson Parish School system. Congrats to you Dr. Charlese Brown and to your family.
David Ker, III graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelors in Sociology with a minor in Constitutional Studies. David attended Notre Dame on a Posse Scholarship. This program helped to provide mentorship and support during his time at the university to help increase student outcomes and ensure students complete their academic program. When asked what’s next, David had the best response: Something Amazing. Well, congrats to you Mr. David Ker, III. We look forward to your amazing contributions to our society.
Shanda Theriot, Ed.D, graduated from Xavier University with a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership. During her time at Xavier in the graduate program she was inducted into Kappa Gamma Pi, the national Catholic Graduate Honor Society, and Kappa Delta Pi, the national honor society for educators. Dr. Theriot will continue her ministry as principal of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic School. Congratulations Dr. Shanda Theriot to you and your family.
High School Graduates
Sianna Ferbos graduated from Cabrini High School. Sianna graduated cum laude because of her hard work and dedication to her studies. She was awarded the Tiger Paw Scholarship from Texas Southern University, as well as, scholarships from Southern A&M University, Tuskegee University, Texas Tech University, and the University of Louisiana, Lafayette. Next year she will be attending Texas Southern University studying Sports Journalism and Kinesiology. Congrats to you Sianna and to your family.
Lierra Gray-Jackson graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. During her time at St. Mary’s Lierra received honor roll, Renaissance stars, the Taylor Scholars Award, and highest honors in Health & P.E. Due to her academic work she received scholarships to Iowa State and Kansas State. Once summer is over, Lierra will be moving to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University where she will major in Business Administration. Congratulations Lierra and blessings upon your family.
Aliyah Hines graduated from Academy of Our Lady. During her time at AOL, Aliyah participated in the Health Occupations program. This allowed her to receive both her Nursing Assistant and Patient Care Technician certifications. She has decided to attend Louisiana State University next year to continue her academic work. Aliyah, we are very proud of you and offer our congratulations on your success.
Lea McGeathy graduated from Cabrini High School with the distinction, Magna Cum Laude. Lea also was awarded Most Valuable Player for her time as a cheerleader. Her academic tenacity earned her merit scholarships to Xavier University of Louisiana, Louisiana State University, and Spelman College. Next year she will be attending Louisiana State University majoring in General Studies. Congrats to you Lea and to your family.
Ery’elle Stewart graduated from Livingston Collegiate Academy. Ery’elle was a member of the Top 10 of her class, as well as, being inducted into the National Honor Society. She received awards both her academic efforts and her athletic talents. She also received a number of academic scholarships. Next year, she will be attending Grambling State University where she will major in Kinesiology. Ery’elle congratulations to you for all your hard work and blessings to your family.
Alyssa Theodore graduated from the New Orleans Military & Maritime Academy. During her time at NOMMA she participated in the Consumer Science program and received her Industry Based certification in Customer Service. After her summer fun, Alyssa will attend Southeastern Louisiana University majoring in nursing. Congrats for all your hard work and success Alyssa. Blessing for your journey.
Madison Vidal graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School and the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts. Due to her hard work in high school Madison received merit scholarships to Xavier University of Louisiana and Louisiana State University. She also received Presidential Scholarships to William Carey University and Loyola University of New Orleans. Next year she will attend Loyola University of New Orleans to major in Vocal Music Performance. Madison congrats and we look forward to hearing the angelic melodies of your future.
Carissa Washington graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. Her senior year was filled with recognition for her faith and hard work. At St. Mary’s Carissa was inducted into the Honor Society and the Young Visionaries of Henriette Delille. She also received the Academy’s highest honor, the Mother Henriette Delille Award. Carissa received the Outstanding Parish Youth Award from St. Maria Goretti and Archbishop Aymond bestowed upon her the St. Timothy Award, a national honor given as our highest award in the archdiocese to youth from local parishes. Next year she will attend Loyola University of New Orleans on scholarship majoring in Criminal Justice. Our sincere congratulations to you, Carissa, and to your family.
